Building Wonders Video

Archaeologist, broadcaster, and writer, Julian Richards sails up the Avon to uncover the expertise that went into creating Bristol’s floating harbour.

The harbour, which was once the world’s largest impounded port, came to life two hundred years ago, when William Jessop oversaw the flooding of the River Avon to give the city a new heart.

Computer Generated Imagery is built into the fabric of the programme, as Julian inhabits both the real world and the builder’s plans.
